Stand United against the Epidemic Outbreak

Release time:2020-02-04 17:18

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Puyi company has attached great importance to the situation, and strictly implemented related policies of governments at all levels. Our employees have been promptly reporting their physical conditions on a daily basis, and earnestly following the epidemic prevention and control arrangements.

In accordance with the Emergency Notice of Extending the Spring Festival Holiday issued by Human Resources and Social Security Department of Shandong Province, as well as the unified deployment of local governments, Puyi company has postponed the time of returning to work from 3rd, Feb to 10th, Feb, during which all employees shall work from home.

Faced with the outbreak, the medical workers are bravely combating the crisis at the front-line. And their dedication and courage have emerged as the most reliable barrier against the virus.

As a company employee, we may not be able to contribute as much, but strict implementation of anti-epidemic policies and maintenance of our own physical and mental health will be the best contribution from us during this crisis period. As we are about to return to work, we should bear in mind the epidemic prevention reminders from Zhong Nanshan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Zhong gave several suggestions on epidemic prevention, among which, apart from personal protection measures such as wearing masks, he emphasized most about precautions in some special places. Since the novel coronavirus is mainly transmitted though droplets in the air, those places with poor air flow and/or high personnel density are often listed as high-risk areas, which require our close attention.

  • Elevators

The elevator is now almost a standard device in every office space for carrying people up and down the stairs. We take it almost every single day. Although it may take only a few minutes for a lift, we should be noted that due to poor air circulation and high personnel density, the chances of cross infection are rather high. Meanwhile, the buttons are frequently touched yet disinfected untimely, so it’s very important for us to wear masks while taking the elevator, and make sure to wash your hands properly afterwards. For people living or working on lower floors, it’s suggested that you take the stairs instead, not only to exercise, but to reduce the exposure to viruses.

  • Restaurants

The air flow in restaurants is relatively better given the larger space, but the problem is that it’s not possible to wear a mask while eating. And the flow of people is fairly large, causing a higher infection probability. Therefore, Zhong suggested that we should choose those restaurants with good environment and better ventilation. Of course, the best way is to eat at home, or to stagger the peak mealtime. And it’s not suggested to chat over meal. Pay attention to your personal hygiene, and always wash your hands before and after meals.

  • Offices

Offices are the place where people stay the longest each day. However, with everyone wearing masks and frequent ventilation, the risk of transmission could be effectively contained. But since the flow of people is large, timely disinfection is still vey critical, especially for items that are frequently contacted, such as the mouse, keyboard, door handle, etc.

  • Bathrooms

Among these four places, the bathroom might be the most overlooked. This is where our metabolic wastes are handled, so the chances of contact are rather high, especially because the squat pan is widely replaced by the pedestal pan. As a result, it’s recommended that you use wipes or disposable toilet cushions for protection while using public toilets. And make sure to wash your hands thoroughly afterwards.

The novel coronavirus is not insurmountable. Scientific knowledge and personal protection awareness are the key to defeat it. In addition to strict public health measures, we must also work on strengthening our awareness, so that we can effectively curb the spread of the epidemic and better survive this crisis.
